Rutgers Gardens
2012 / 18 x 24 / Adobe InDesign
In my first Design class at Mason Gross School of the Arts, my final assignment for the semester was to go somewhere and record the sounds I was hearing. I chose to go to Rutgers Gardens on an autumn evening. We were required to select 3 sounds and title them for the next portion of the assignment:
Endless: the sound of water running through the creeks
Serene: the sound of leaves blowing through the wind
Eerie: the sound of tall pine trees swaying in the wind at dusk
The next and final part of the assignment required to create a visual representation of those 3 sounds using:
- the same typeface in all 3 images
- maximum of 3 colors per image
- usage of only circles, squares, and triangles to represent each sound

Untitled
2011 / 9 x 12 / Intaglio Etching, Watercolor, Dry Point, Aquatint, Chine Collé
Inspired by sketches, geometric patterns, fascination with drawing hair, and evoking emotions without faces. This process was my final project for my Intaglio Etching college course, which required multiple techniques we learned.
Printed from a zinc metal plate, I electronically sanded the previous etchings off. I used dry point for the lines, rosin aquatint for the black, and collaged rice paper I painted with watercolor using the chine collé technique.
